Takshila Educational Society was formed in 1997 as a non profit organization with the explicit objective of establishing educational institutions that provide quality education, academic excellence and strong co curricular foundation. Takshila aims to provide education that is meant to build capacity in our students to take on the challenges of living and excelling in the global village and emerge as leaders of tomorrow while preserving their Indian sensibilities, thereby enabling them to respect elders, care for the fragile eco system and nurture the rich heritage of music, art and culture. As of now, the four Delhi Public Schools under Takshila’s umbrella—Patna, Pune, Ludhiana and Coimbatore—are providing holistic education to over 11000 students and direct employment to over a thousand teachers and administrative staff.
In addition to the various educational and rural development initiatives, India’s rich cultural heritage has been another focus area for Takshila. Since its inception, Takshila has proactively promoted Indian classical music, dance, craft and other art forms in all the states where its institutes are operational.
