SRIJANI FOUNDATION aims for the economic empowerment of women from marginalized sections of society in Bihar. It is a novel enterprise by women from weaker sections of society, who find an expression of their lives, dreams, desires, aspirations and world views in their hand-embroidered ‘Stree Katha’ (narratives). This allows them to explore socio-cultural norms and their identity in traditional, yet contemporary forms. Srijani is not just a platform for the women from the backyards of Bihar; it is also an expression of their voice, immense talent and creative ability.

Toon Masti leverages the power of cartoons and audio-visual aids to make learning joyful. Toon Masti covers Maths and EVS (Environmental Studies) as well as Hindi and English languages for the nursery level. The content is in line with the syllabi prescribed by the NCERT in its text books and the principles laid down by the National Curriculum Framework 2005 for Classes I to V. It is available in English and Hindi versions. Since both PC and TV/DVD compatible formats of Toon Masti are available, it can be run on either computers or TV sets.

Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA) aims to sustainably increase the productivity of cereal-based cropping systems, thus improving food security and farmers’ livelihoods in Bangladesh, India and Nepal, focusing on the region’s most important grain baskets.

SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) is a non-political, nationwide, voluntary movement founded in 1977 by Dr. Kiran Seth, Professor-Emeritus at IIT-Delhi who was awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ for his contribution to the arts in 2009. SPIC MACAY’s intention is to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage and inspiring the young mind to imbibe the values embedded in it. It seeks to inspire youth through experiencing the mysticism embodied in the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry of Indian and World Heritage. For this, the most accomplished artistes of the country render programmes of Indian classical music and dance, folk, poetry, theatre, traditional paintings, crafts & yoga primarily across schools and colleges in India.

Waste Warriors: Established in 2011, Waste Warriors is a community led Solid Waste Management (SWM) initiative in rural, urban and protected areas. It pioneers replicable models of resource management, innovative practices, research and education in the field of solid waste management. It attempts to improve working conditions for waste workers and devises positive steps towards integrating the unorganized waste sector into the formal Solid Waste Management (SWM) industry all the while reducing the stigma attached to waste.

Duolingo is an American language-learning website and mobile app, as well as a digital language-proficiency assessment exam. Dedicated to making language learning free and accessible to all, Duolingo uses scientifically proven, bite-sized lessons to provide instruction in 35+ languages. In addition to its core platform, the company developed the Duolingo English Test (DET), an affordable and convenient language certification option that is accepted by over 500 universities.

Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization which aims to support and increase the number of women in the discipline of computer science and thereby equip them with necessary computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities. The organization works towards closing in the gender employment difference in technology. It also attempts to change the stereotypical image of a programmer by adding dimensions of gender.

Established on 6th March 2016 in collaboration with Takshila Educational Society, Centre for Development, Practice and Research, based in Patna, has been actively pursuing research, short-term courses, lectures, seminars, conferences, publications and student mentorship. The priority areas of research of the Centre include migration and labor studies, justice, school education, and public health. The research carried at the Centre is multi, inter and trans- disciplinary in nature. The Centre also intends to promote research both in Vernacular and English languages. Parivartan provides an important work area for TISS deliberations. A four-year field action project on “Deepening Democracy through Gram Panchayats” was launched in mid-August in Miyan Ke Bhatkan, Gram Panchayat in Jiradei block of Siwan district of Bihar. The project aims to strengthen representation, participation and capacities of the functionaries of the Gram Panchayat

Palavi is a Mumbai based Learning & Development Consulatncy Firm foounded by Chirag Sakhare. They provide needs-based trainings and TOTs on life skills and sports for development to educational institutions and schools. They also develop, maintain and run training facilities and establish health and safety processes.

Jodo Gyan is an organization working to find workable solutions to the problems in classroom practices. Since 1998, the organisation has   worked closely with students, teachers, teacher-educators and parents, particularly in mathematics and science education, to introduce innovative methods through which children will understand and enjoy what they are being taught. Conducting workshops, mainly in-service as well as for trainee teachers, designing, producing and providing low-cost teaching learning materials (TLMs) for the implementation of activity-based education have all been a part of this endeavor. Since its establishment in 1998, Jodo Gyan has reached out more than 70,000 teachers, 2000 teacher educators and school leaders along with approx. 21000 schools across the country.

Kilkari works for complete personal development of children through free joyful and creative environment where children can participate in activities that help discover their hidden talents and creativity. Kilkari offers healthy, tension free and joyful environment for children of 8 to 16 years. Here, children get training and many opportunities to perform according to their interests, for their creative development. Bal Bhawan offers those opportunities to children, which they are deprived of in their homes or schools.

The National Institute of Design (NID) was established in 1961. It is internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institution in the field of design education and research. NID believes in imparting education to nurture design professionals of excellence to help meet India’s diverse design needs. The institute pioneers creation of indigenous design solutions by focusing on affordable designs for the masses. It is an autonomous institution, placed under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

TED Ed Clubs is an initiative of TED Talks. It is a platform that gives students an opportunity to work together, to discuss and celebrate creative ideas. TED-ED guides and helps inspire future speakers and leaders. The TED-Ed encourages students to claim their voices, share their ideas, and participate in a global conversation. The program is designed to support students from ages 8 -18 — all over the world.

Meteorological Centre, Patna is the nodal meteorological service of the state Bihar and the principal government agency in all matters relating to meteorology, seismology and allied subjects related to the state of Bihar with the objective to observe and provide current and forecast meteorological information for optimum operation of weather sensitive activities like agriculture, irrigation, aviation, etc. IMD also warns against severe weather phenomena like tropical cyclones, norwesters, duststorms and heavy rains, cold and heat waves, etc., which cause destruction of life and property.

The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The Institute aims to serve the cause of science and society with distinction through first rate research, generation of appropriate technologies and development of human resources. In fact, the Green Revolution was born in the fields of IARI and its graduates constitute the core of the quality human resource in India’s agricultural research and education. The Institute has all along been adjusting and improving its policies, plans and programmes to effectively respond to the needs and opportunities of the nation. 

Established in 1974, Bioversity International earlier focused on the emergency conservation of crop genetic resources in genebanks. Today they deliver scientific evidence, management practices and policy options to use and safeguard agricultural biodiversity to attain sustainable global food and nutrition security.

The Design Village is an interdisciplinary, industry- centric design institute, based out of Noida, New Delhi in India. The Design Village believes in impact through design, life through design. For them, design does not only solve problems of today, but also proposes new ways for the future. To fulfill this ambition, The Design Village aims to nurture and educate individuals by giving them a choice to not limit themselves to any particular field of design.
